I spotted this post by Ramesh Ponnuru on National Review Online’s Corner blog yesterday and thought I’d weigh in:
There’s been a lot of talk about Jeb Bush over the last few days. If he does run, he should consider Liz Cheney as a running mate. They won’t even have to design new stickers.
I’m assuming that he’s being tongue in cheek here, but on the off chance he isn’t… Not just no, but hell no.
I love Liz Cheney and I’d love to see her run office, but when it comes to the Bush clan — no more. I came of age during the Reagan ear and I watched as George H. W. Bush and then George W. Bush squandered the Reagan legacy and did far more damage to the conservative movement than Democrats ever could.
No more Bush’s — not now, not ever.
