Most are also ready to do something about it at the ballot box in November.<\/p>\n<p>Sixty-seven percent (67%) of Likely U.S. Voters say America is a more divided nation than it was four years ago. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just seven percent (7%) think the country is less divided now, while 21% rate the level of division as about the same.(To see survey question wording,\u00a0<a title=\"Questions\" href=\"http:\/\/www.rasmussenreports.com\/public_content\/politics\/questions\/pt_survey_questions\/july_2014\/questions_political_division_july_17_18_2014\" target=\"_blank\">click here<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>Among voters who see more division or about the same level of it, 35% believe President Obama is to blame. But 34% point the finger at Republicans in Congress instead. Twenty-three percent (23%) say they\u2019re both to blame. Just five percent (5%) attribute the division to something else\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps problematic for Democrats is that 65% of GOP voters and 55% of voters not affiliated with either major party are more likely to vote this year, compared to 53% of those in the president\u2019s party. But that could change as the election gets nearer.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>It shouldn&#8217;t come as any surprise that roughly two-thirds of likely voters think America is more divided today than 4 years ago. President Barack Obama and his fellow travelers in Democrat party and progressive left have been trying to divide us along racial, gender and cultural lines for much of the last decade. Divisive class warfare rhetoric has become part and parcel of their playbook. . . they reflexively brand anyone who opposes their policies as a racist, sexist, misogynist, homophobe or whatever other pejorative they want to tag you with.<\/p>\n<p>The sad truth is the days when reasonable people could agree to respectfully disagree have long past.\u00a0 Politics today isn&#8217;t about respectful disagreement, it&#8217;s about demonizing and destroying your opponents. Our political divisions <a href=\"http:\/\/reason.com\/blog\/2014\/06\/13\/liberals-and-conservatives-hate-each-oth\" target=\"_blank\">have become so deep liberals and conservatives don&#8217;t just have different political beliefs or principles, we live differently<\/a> &#8212; and apart from one another.<\/p>\n<p>That is a sad, and frightening testament to the state of our nation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From Rasmussen Reports: Voters strongly believe the United States is a more divided nation these days, and they think both sides are to blame.
