Jeff Sessions of Alabama hosted a press conference on Thursday, July 26, 2012 in which Chris Crane is President of the National Immigration and Customs Enforcement Council, George McCubbin, III is President of the National Border Patrol Council, discussed the chaos being created\u00a0 by President Barack Obama&#8217;s backdoor amnesty policy:<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"595\" height=\"335\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Xb2_3R6oHSQ?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p>More <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/2012\/07\/26\/ice-border-patrol-unions-claim-illegal-immigrants-exploiting-dreamer-policy\/\" target=\"_blank\">from Fox News<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Union heads representing thousands of America&#8217;s immigration agents slammed the Obama administration Thursday over a policy they claim is forcing officials to ignore the law and allowing illegal immigrants to exploit the system.<\/p>\n<p>In a startling allegation, the president of the union representing Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers claimed illegal immigrants are &#8220;taking advantage&#8221; of a new directive allowing some undocumented residents who came to the U.S. as children to stay in the country. Union boss Chris Crane said the policy ends up allowing illegal immigrants to avoid detention without any proof &#8212; particularly so-called &#8220;dreamers,&#8221; or those illegal immigrants who would benefit under the &#8220;DREAM Act&#8221; proposal, which Congress has not passed but the administration \u00a0has partially implemented.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Prosecutorial discretion for dreamers is solely based on the individual&#8217;s claims. Our orders are if an alien says they went to high school, then let them go,&#8221; he said at a press conference with GOP senators. &#8220;Officers have been told that there is no burden for the alien to prove anything. &#8230; At this point we don&#8217;t even know why DHS has criteria at all, as there is no requirement or burden to prove anything on the part of the alien.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We believe that significant numbers of people who are not dreamers are taking advantage of this practice to avoid arrest,&#8221; he said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Illegal immigration has really become the secondary issue at this point&#8230; the most basic responsibility of the federal government is to protect American citizens from foreign threats &#8212; and it&#8217;s failing miserably at it.<br \/>\nThere is a violent drug war going on in Mexico, that violence is spilling across our southern border and endangering the lives of American citizens.
