{"id":4531,"date":"2012-07-09T10:19:59","date_gmt":"2012-07-09T14:19:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jasetaro.com\/blog\/?p=4531"},"modified":"2012-07-09T10:19:59","modified_gmt":"2012-07-09T14:19:59","slug":"every-state-that-elected-a-republican-governor-in-2010-saw-unemployment-drop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jasetaro.com\/blog\/2012\/07\/09\/every-state-that-elected-a-republican-governor-in-2010-saw-unemployment-drop\/","title":{"rendered":"Every State That Elected A Republican Governor in 2010 Saw Unemployment Drop"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I saw this over the weekend and thought I&#8217;d share this morning&#8230; According to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.examiner.com\/article\/new-republican-governors-rapidly-bringing-down-unemployment-their-states\" target=\"_blank\">an Examiner.com analysis<\/a>, the 17 states that elected a Republican Governors in 2010 hes seen unemployment drop at an average of 1.35% &#8212; well ahead of the national average of .9%.<\/p>\n<p>Here is how much the unemployment has rate declined in each of the 17 states since those newly elected Republican governors took office in January 2011:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Kansas &#8211; 6.9% to 6.1% = a decline of 0.8%<\/p>\n<p>Maine &#8211; 8.0% to 7.4% = a decline of 0.6%<\/p>\n<p>Michigan &#8211; 10.9% to 8.5% = a decline of 2.4%<\/p>\n<p>New Mexico &#8211; 7.7% to 6.7% = a decline of 1.0%<\/p>\n<p>Oklahoma &#8211; 6.2% to 4.8% = a decline of 1.4%<\/p>\n<p>Pennsylvania &#8211; 8.0% to 7.4% = a decline of 0.6%<\/p>\n<p>Tennessee &#8211; 9.5% to 7.9% = a decline of 1.6%<\/p>\n<p>Wisconsin &#8211; 7.7% to 6.8% = a decline of 0.9%<\/p>\n<p>Wyoming &#8211; 6.3% to 5.2% = a decline of 1.1%<\/p>\n<p>Alabama &#8211; 9.3% to 7.4% = a decline of 1.9%<\/p>\n<p>Georgia &#8211; 10.1% to 8.9% = a decline of 1.2%<\/p>\n<p>South Carolina &#8211; 10.6% to 9.1% = a decline of 1.5%<\/p>\n<p>South Dakota &#8211; 5.0% to 4.3% = a decline of 0.7%<\/p>\n<p>Florida &#8211; 10.9% to 8.6% = a decline of 2.3%<\/p>\n<p>Nevada &#8211; 13.8% to 11.6% = a decline of 2.2%<\/p>\n<p>Iowa &#8211; 6.1% to 5.1% = a decline of 1.0%<\/p>\n<p>Ohio &#8211; 9.0% to 7.3% = a decline of 1.7%<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Even if we remove Michigan, Florida, and Nevada which saw the largest deceases in unemployment from the equation,\u00a0the average drop in the unemployment rate is still 1.14%.<\/p>\n<p>Compare that to the eight states that elected new Democratic governors in 2010:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Colorado &#8211; 8.8% to 8.1% = a decline of 0.7%<\/p>\n<p>New York &#8211; 8.2% to 8.6% = an <em>increase<\/em> of 0.4%<\/p>\n<p>Oregon &#8211; 9.9% to 8.4% = a decline of 1.5%<\/p>\n<p>California &#8211; 12.1% to 10.8% = a decline of 1.3%<\/p>\n<p>Connecticut &#8211; 9.3% to 7.8% = a decline of 1.5%<\/p>\n<p>Hawaii &#8211; 6.7% to 6.3% = a decline of 0.4%<\/p>\n<p>Minnesota &#8211; 6.8% to 5.6% = a decline of 1.2%<\/p>\n<p>Vermont &#8211; 6.0% to 4.6% = a decline of 1.4%<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Like their Republican counterparts each of these Democrats took office in January 2011, the average drop in the unemployment rate in these states was 0.95%, roughly the same as the drop seen nationally&#8230; And it&#8217;s worth noting\u00a0 one of these states, New York, has actually seen unemployment rise since January 2011.<\/p>\n<p>I suppose I could be like the President&#8217;s economic advisers and say <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theblaze.com\/stories\/dont-read-too-much-into-it-june-jobs-report-marks-31st-time-the-white-house-advises-voters-to-ignore-data\/\" target=\"_blank\">don&#8217;t read to much into to this<\/a>, but I think it argues well for Conservative principles.<\/p>\n<p>H\/T: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/Big-Government\/2012\/07\/07\/Unemployment-Rate-Dropped-In-Every-State-That-Elected-A-Republican-Gov-In-2010\" target=\"_blank\">Tony Lee, Breitbart.com<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I saw this over the weekend and thought I&#8217;d share this morning&#8230; According to an Examiner.com analysis, the 17 states that elected a Republican Governors in 2010 hes seen unemployment drop at an average of 1.35% &#8212; well ahead of the national average of .9%.
