Oh boy, judging by the comment threads at Hot Air<\/a> and Breitbart<\/a>, S.E. Cupp kicked over one hell of a hornet’s nest on MSNBC’s The Cycle tonight<\/a>:<\/p>\n

The four hosts of MSNBC\u2019s The Cycle appeared with anchor Thomas Roberts on Friday where each host weighed in with their updated rankings for who they think will be Mitt Romney\u2019s vice presidential pick. Co-host S.E. Cupp was asked who she thought the most likely female potential vice president would be given Ann Romney\u2019s suggestion that the campaign was seriously considering a woman. \u201cAnn Romney is lying,\u201d said Cupp. \u201cThey are not looking at women. They are not going to pick a woman candidate. There is just no way.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Someone has to say it, so I will: Bullshit! I can think of at least two Republican women governors who fit Romney\u2019s core requirement for VP — being ready to be president on day one: Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer and Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin.<\/p>\n

Brewer and Fallin are both first term governors, but they both have had long political careers.<\/p>\n

Fallin has held numerous elected offices including two terms in the House of Representatives and 3 terms as Lt. Governor before being elected Governor. And Brewer’s resume includes terms in the Arizona State Senate and Arizona House of Representatives and as Secretary of State before being elected Governor. Either one of them would make a credible VP pick.<\/p>\n

I’ve also heard Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers of Washington mentioned as potential VP choice. She’s served in the House of Representative\u00a0 for the last 7 years, but don’t I see any executive experience on her resume, but as Allahpundit notes<\/a> over at Hot Air her pick would be problematic for another reason:<\/p>\n

picking her would raise the question of why, if Romney was open to a VP from the House, he didn\u2019t pick the far more prominent Paul Ryan instead. If the answer is \u201cBecause Mitt\u2019s afraid of Ryan\u2019s budget,\u201d that\u2019ll be received, shall we say, coolly by conservatives.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Anyway, this all conjecture at this point,\u00a0 nobody knows who is actually on Mitt Romeny’s short list, we’re all just guessing.<\/p>\n
