{"id":4253,"date":"2011-10-03T16:32:36","date_gmt":"2011-10-03T20:32:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jasetaro.com\/blog\/?p=4253"},"modified":"2011-10-03T16:32:36","modified_gmt":"2011-10-03T20:32:36","slug":"breaking-amanda-knox-murder-conviction-overturned","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jasetaro.com\/blog\/2011\/10\/03\/breaking-amanda-knox-murder-conviction-overturned\/","title":{"rendered":"Breaking: Amanda Knox Murder Conviction Overturned"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nearly four years after she was first arrested on suspicion of murder, an Italian appeals court has <a href=\"http:\/\/today.msnbc.msn.com\/id\/44752948\/ns\/today-today_news\/t\/knox-verdict-reached-court-announce-it-shortly\/#.TooZprLh5Bl\" target=\"_blank\">overturned Amanda Knox&#8217;s murder conviction and order her released<\/a>.\u00a0 Her co-defendant Raffaele Sollecito&#8217;s conviction was also overturned:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Both were expected to be freed after being returned to prison to collect their belongings.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier Monday, a tearful Knox told the jury that she did not kill her British roommate, pleading for the court to free her so she can return to the United States after four years behind bars.<\/p>\n<p>Knox frequently paused for breath and fought back tears as she spoke in Italian to the eight members of the jury in a packed courtroom, but managed to maintain her composure during the 10-minute address.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m not a promiscuous vamp.
