Wow, what a weekend! I can’t think of better or more fitting ending to the years first major than Phil Mickelson’s emotional embrace of his wife Amy after winning his third Masters title<\/a>:<\/p>\n

AUGUSTA, Ga. \u2013 Even sweeter than Phil Mickelson slipping into another green jacket was seeing his wife waiting for him behind the 18th green Sunday at Augusta National with tears streaming down her face.<\/p>\n

She had not been at a golf tournament since being diagnosed with breast cancer 11 months ago.<\/p>\n

He had not looked the same ever since.<\/p>\n

A shattered world seemed at peace in the fading sunlight Sunday at the Masters, where Mickelson made one last birdie for a 5-under 67 and a three-shot victory over Lee Westwood.<\/p>\n

The conclusion was far more emotional than anyone expected.<\/p>\n

“To win this tournament, it’s the most amazing feeling,” Mickelson said from Butler Cabin. “This has been a special day. I’ll look back on this day as very memorable, something I’ll always cherish.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Mr. Mickelson fired rounds of 67, 71, 67 and 67 on his way to a tournament winning a 16 under par 272.<\/p>\n

Congratulations Phil… and Amy. This one was special!<\/p>\n
