{"id":2326,"date":"2009-06-10T15:35:15","date_gmt":"2009-06-10T19:35:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jasetaro.com\/blog\/?p=2326"},"modified":"2009-06-10T18:57:31","modified_gmt":"2009-06-10T22:57:31","slug":"breaking-two-shot-inside-holocaust-museum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jasetaro.com\/blog\/2009\/06\/10\/breaking-two-shot-inside-holocaust-museum\/","title":{"rendered":"Breaking: Two Shot Inside Holocaust Museum"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A gunman opened fire in the lobby of the Holocaust Museum in Washington D.C., wounding a security guard before other officers returned fire.<\/p>\n<p>Fox News <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/2009\/06\/10\/shots-fired-national-holocaust-museum-dc\/\" target=\"_blank\">reports<\/a> that gunman has been identified as 88 year old James Von Brunn:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The gunman has been identified as James Von Brunn, FOX News has learned, a  man with apparent links to the white supremacist movement.\u00a0A Web site believed  to be his personal blog carries several anti-Semitic statements &#8212; the site says  he was a World War II veteran and also served time in federal prison for trying  to make a &#8220;citizens arrest&#8221;\u00a0of Federal Reserve Board members in 1981.<\/p>\n<p>David Schlosser, a spokesman for the U.S. Park Police, said two people were  shot Wednesday \u00a0&#8212; the security guard and the gunman. Both were transferred to a  local hospital, he said.<\/p>\n<p>Schlosser said the gunman entered the museum shortly before 1 p.m. ET  carrying a &#8220;long gun,&#8221;\u00a0but that it&#8217;s unclear whether he was carrying a rifle or  a shotgun. He shot one security guard, Schlosser said, and then two other  security guards returned fire, wounding the shooter.<\/p>\n<p>There were conflicting reports about how many people were wounded.\u00a0Another  law enforcement official earlier said three people were shot, though there are  no fatalities.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The scene is secure,&#8221; the source said.<\/p>\n<p>Police and other law enforcement, including the FBI&#8217;s Terrorism Task Force,  have surrounded the museum site.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Update<\/strong> (6:49 p.m.): <span class=\"nonprint\"><span class=\"caption\">Stephen T.
