{"id":1781,"date":"2009-03-24T14:42:33","date_gmt":"2009-03-24T18:42:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jasetaro.com\/blog\/?p=1781"},"modified":"2009-03-24T14:49:32","modified_gmt":"2009-03-24T18:49:32","slug":"george-will-congress-is-a-toxic-asset","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jasetaro.com\/blog\/2009\/03\/24\/george-will-congress-is-a-toxic-asset\/","title":{"rendered":"George Will: Congress is a Toxic Asset"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is one of the few times I agree with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/content\/article\/2009\/03\/23\/AR2009032302140.html\" target=\"_blank\">George Will<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>With the braying of 328 yahoos &#8212; members of the House of Representatives who voted for retroactive and punitive use of the tax code to confiscate the legal earnings of a small, unpopular group &#8212; still reverberating, the Obama administration yesterday invited private-sector investors to become business partners with the capricious and increasingly anti-constitutional government. This latest plan to unfreeze the financial system came almost half a year after Congress shoveled $700 billion into the Troubled Assets Relief Program, $325 billion of which has been spent without purchasing any toxic assets.<\/p>\n<p>TARP funds have, however, semi-purchased, among many other things, two automobile companies (and, last week, some of their parts suppliers), which must amaze Sweden.
