Thomas Paine once said, \u201cThe greatest tyrannies are always perpetrated in the name of the noblest causes.\u201d that about sums up President Joe Biden\u2019s \u201cMinistry of Truth\u201d better known as the Disinformation Governance Board.

On the surface a government agency dedicated to combating disinformation may sound like a good idea, it is, in reality a very dangerous one. Adolf Hitler, Josef Stalin & Benito Mussolini all had government agencies dedicated to combating what they called \u201cdisinformation\u201d. What they did was suppress dissenting views and promote government propaganda.

The reality is no government in history that has attempted to regulate or police \u201ctruth\u201d has been the good guys. When you create a government agency design to police \u201ctruth\u201d you have created a monster that will proclaim grave threats around every corner even when there aren\u2019t any \u201cthreats\u201d to counter. Beyond that these government truth police will eventually become a partisan tool used to suppress debate and silence dissenting views in name of protecting democracy. That is a far greater threat to our republic than \u201cdisinformation\u201d \u2026 Never forget George Washington\u2019s warning: “If the freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent, we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
